Hatched’s methodology, known as Transaction Server, involves collecting transaction data from a global panel of consumers who have opted in to participate and share their purchase data. Hatched analyzes the metadata to understand the relationship between a consumer’s purchase of a product/service, their location and the location of the transaction servers to see if there is any information being provided which would be indicative of volumes being processed on a company’s servers.

Hatched analyse a target’s digital footprint to find ways to measure the volume of transactions being processed in a time period without sampling. We focus on global tickers, B2B datasets as well as names that cannot be answered by US-only datasets and those that are hard to source. The average error rates for our reports are between 1-3%. On XRO. AU, the "Subscriber Numbers" and APT.AU "Underlying Sales" were used as KPIs. Geographical data is used to understand how Xero and Afterpay are performing in different regions across Australia & New Zealand, USA and UK.
90% of the reports track to a reported KPI. Clients use this data to determine how the target company is performing in the current quarter. 1/3 of clients input the Hatched KPI prediction into their model, 2/3 of clients use the index to build their own KPI prediction.
